Abstract
PURPOSE:To attempt reduction of the width of the sealing member, by joining together a sealing pattern section formed on the surface of the first base plate out of two base plates composing the indicator panel enclosure and a sealing layer formed on the surface of the edge of the second base plate, and making them melt and deposit by heating. CONSTITUTION:On the first base plate 11, an indicator electrode 15 and a dielectric layer 16 are formed, and a banklike sealing pattern section 12 is formed in their circumferential area by using a low melting point glass paste or the like. On the other hand, an indicator electrode 15 and a dielectric layer 16 are formed on the second glass base plate 13, in the same manner as the first base plate a low melting point glass paste layer 14 is formed by coating roller or the like on the surface of its edge. Both base plates 11, 13 are joined together, and melted and adhered by heating. Thereby, the sealing width can be reduced, and, accordingly, the space factor of the indicator area can be improved.
