Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any leakage of the electrolyte from the periphery of the electrode of a thin battery, by using a separator the periphery of which is impregnated with a given polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:A carbon film 3 is affixed to a metal plate 2, a positive collector 1 being made. A positive mixture 4 is applied to the collector 1 except the peripheral part of that. A separator 5 and a negative zinc plate 6 are placed over the positive mixture 4, and these three are wrapped in both a negative-side armor body 7 provided with a negative terminal 8, and a positive-side armor body 9. After that, thermoplastic filmlike adhesives 11 and 12 which are provided on the surfaces of the periphery of the separator 5, as well as the peripheral parts of the armor bodies 7 and 9 are subjected to fusion, thus a thin battery being formed. The periphery of the separator 5 of the battery is impregnated with a self-emulsification polyolefin in which a carboxyl group is introduced, in order to improve the tightness of the battery.
