Abstract

PURPOSE: To combine fluid from the exterior or discharge it to the exterior for adjusting temperature of the fluid by connecting a drive means such as bimetal to a valve body to open and close a valve in response to change in the temperature of the fluid.
CONSTITUTION: In a valve 54 for combining and branching fluid flow to adjust temperature of the fluid, when temperature of fluid in a valve chamber 35 is low, bending force of a bimetal unit 43 is small so that a valve body 40 closes a valve hole 39 communicating to a fluid combining or branching port 38 with a coil spring 44. On the contrary when said temperature is high, the bimetal unit 43 extends to compress the spring 44 and the valve body 40 opens the valve hole 39. Such valve 54 is disposed in an intake path 55 of a pump 52 and the flow combining port is connected to a high pressure-low temperature water source 56. In such use of the valve, low temperature water is poured in condensation in the intake path 55 by the action of the valve 54 to cool the condensation when temperature of the condensation is higher than a set value. Thus, necessary minimum amount of cooling water is automatically added so that a feed water pump 52 carries out efficient pressure feed of condensation without cavitation.
