Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a superfine fused yarn having a high strength, a slight unevenness, improved drapeability and unique hand, by fusing or gluing an undrawn polyethylene terephthalate (PET) yarn with the super drawing, and draw false twisting and opening the resultant fiber partly.
CONSTITUTION: An undrawn yarn 1 consisting of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers is subjected to the uniform super drawing with the first hot plate 3 and a pneumatic false twisting nozzle 4 between feed rollers 2 and the first draw rollers 5 while being twisted and vibrated, and fused or glued. The resultant yarn is then draw false twisted with the second hot plate 6 and a false twister 7 between the first draw rollers 5 and the second draw rollers 8 to open the fusion partly and wound up by a winding roller 9 to give the aimed superfine fused yarn.
