Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure prevention of copying starting while a paper feed part is in the closed state by detecting with a switch that the paper feed part is open when a paper feed cassette having a cover which makes the paper feed part freely openable and closable is mounted to the body. CONSTITUTION:When an operator provide a paper feed cassette 17 to the copying machine, the paper feed part 22 at the left end of a cover 21 is turned to open. When the part 22 opens to the position of the dotted line shown in the figure, the actuator 25 of the switch 26 provided in the upper part of the cover moves upward thereby closing the switch. Since it is surely detected by this that the paper feed part 22 of the cassette is mounted to the copying machine in the opened state, the operator is prevented from mounting the cassette and starting copying while the paper feed part 22 is held closed.
