Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a field distinction circuit which is suitable for IC and is immune from noise and has no malfunctions, by counting the number of horizontal synchronizing signals in one vertical period and by comparing this number with the reference value for distinction. CONSTITUTION:64-Notation counter 14 is cleared by vertical synchronizing signal VD, and outputs pulse A when 32 horizontal synchronizing signals HD are counted. Octal counter 15 outputs pulse B when 4 pulses A are counted. These pulses A and B are input to AND circuit 16 to output pulse C. Gate signal generating circuit 18 supplies pulse -C obtained by reversing the pulse C, and pulse B to AND circuit 21 and supplies output clear pulse D to 32-notation counter 22. Counting 16 signals of HD, counter 22 outputs a pulse and reverses it by reversing circuit 23 and supplies pulse E to AND circuit 19 as the gate signal. Since output F of circuit 19 becomes the vertical synchronizing signal only when input signal VD of terminal 12 is the signal of the 60/525 system, the system to which the receiving TV signal belongs is distinguished. Now malfunctions are excluded by the output of FF28 of terminals 29 and 30.
