Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform position-alignment of high accuracy through simultaneous treatment without using any fine adjustment mechanism by providing guide pins in parallel with optical fibers and fitting the same into the position-aligning recesses provided in a support for photoelectric transducers. CONSTITUTION:The end faces of optical fibers 2 are made flush to the end face of a support 10. The end faces of guide pins 7 are protruding by the specified length from the end face of the support 10. A silicon substrate 5 provided with two or more position-aligning recesses 8 installed by having the specified spacing from the center of the light emitting or photo detecting face of the photoelectric transducers opposing to the optical fibers 2 is opposed to the optical fiber support 10 and the ends of the guide pins 7 are fitted into the position-aligning recesses 8. In this way, the center of the light emitting face or photo detecting face of the photoelectric transducers and the optical axes of the optical fibers 2 are aligned and the spacing between the light emitting faces or photo detecting faces of the photoelectric transducers and the end faces of the optical fiber is made to the specified spacing.
