Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable automatic control of scorching heating or HF heating by a method wherein a light sensor detects the reflected light from a heated body, and the heating operation is controlled when the detection signal has reached a preset value.
CONSTITUTION: When scorching heating is conducted, with a power source device 16 driven, a lamp 10 is turned on, and the reflected light from a heated body 3 is transmitted to a light sensor 14 through a focusing portion 11 and a lens 13. With electric heaters 5, 5' and a fan 9 driven, the surface of the body 3 starts to be scorched by hot blast, and the illumination intensity detected by the sensor 14 decreases. When the illumination intensity has reached a setpoint, the operations of the heaters 5, 5' and fan 9 are stopped through a controller 15. When HF heating is conducted, with the body 3 heated by HF power and with the relative humidity inside a heating chamber 1 increased, the illumination intensity detected by the sensor 14 decreases, and an HF oscillator 6 is controlled according to the output of the sensor 14 in a similar manner to the above.
