Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a continuous steel segment heating furnace capable of heating steel segments without generating skid marks at a low manufacturing cost and operated at a low cost by forming a filling side of a furnace to a pusher type and a extracting side of a furnace to a walking beam type.
CONSTITUTION: In an above described heating furnace, a steel material to be heated 8 on a fixed beam 2 is pushed by a pusher and when an end portion of a next steel segment 8a followed to a terminal end steel segment is reached to an end portion of a moving kid 7 for a walking beam designated at two points dashed lines, a pusher is stopped. Subsequently, a driving cylinder 6 is operated to lift a steel segment 8b by a skid 7 and move a skid 7 to only a distance W, thereafter a steel segment 8 on a skid 7 is put on a fixed skid 3 and a skid 7 is returned to a standby position. Next, after an end portion of a steel segment 8c is moved until reached to a position of an end portion of a skid 7, that is, a steel segment 8 on a beam is moved to only a width Wa, a steel segment 8 is moved by a skid. Hereinafter, by repeating this operation, a steel segment 8 at a filling side is conveyed by a pusher and a steel segment 8 at an extracting side is conveyed by a skid 7.
