PURPOSE:To copy an original by contact reflection system easily and cheaply, by heating an image receptive paper and an intermediate sheet, superposed on this paper, consisting of a photohardenable thermoplastic resin and a heat sensitive color forming system wholly exposed to light in advance with an original in contact with the sheet. CONSTITUTION:Binary heat sensitive color forming material (a combination of a leuco dye and an acidic substance such as aromatic carboxylic acids) 3, 4 and phtohardenable thermoplastic resin 5 such as novolak resin or polyacrylamide form photosensitive layer 6 on transparent substrate 2 to serve as intermediate sheet 1. This sheet is superposed on original 8 having image 7, and the side of sheet 1 is exposed to light to harden part of photosensitive layer 6-2 corresponding to the areas excluding image 7. Then, sheet 1 is superposed on image receptive paper 9, heated to or above the softening temperature of the unhardened resin of layer 6 to form a color by material 3, 4 and further to stick the softened resin of part of layer 6-1 to paper 9, and thus image 7 is transferred to paper 9, paper 9 is stripped off, and a positive image is obtained.
