Abstract
PURPOSE: A crystalline A-type zeolite and an alkali metal sulfide are heated under a nonoxidizing atmosphere to produce inorganic pigments of yellow to green with no adverse effect on human bodies and no environmental pollution.
CONSTITUTION: A crystalline A-type zeolite of the formula (M2 means two atoms of an alkali metal or one atom of alkaline earth metal) and a alkali metal sulfide of A2Sx(A is an alkali metal and X is larger than 1) are heated at 300W600°C under a nonoxidizing atmosphere to give a composition of which the chemical composition is 10W30wt% of M2O, 20W40wt% of SiO2, and 5W25wt% of S, the crystalline structure is cubic, and the X-ray diffraction diagram shows lattice constant 123Å, five strong lines with surface intervals of 7.14Å, 4.11Å, 3.72Å, 3.30Å and 3.00Å and two intermediate lines with surface intervals of 4.36Å and 3.42Å and one weak line with surface interval of 5.05Å.
