Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve moisture resistance, image characteristic, etc. of the photoconductor by depositing alkali metal silicate and alkali earth metals or group IIIa compounds on the surface of photoconductor powder.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of the alkali metal silicate (a) shown by the formula [Me is K, Na; N is positive number (preferably a range of 2 to 3.6)] is mixed with photoconductor power (b) such as CdS, CdSe or other and is thence added and mixed with alkali earth metal compounds such as organic acid salt, sulfate, etc. of Mg, Ba, etc. or periodic law table group IIIa compounds (c) such as sulfate, organic acid salt, etc. of Al, In, etc. The precipitate thereof is dispensed and dried, whereby the photographic covering photoconductor is obtained. The amounts of use of the abovementioned materials are preferably about 0.001 to 0.1 wt% of the alkali metal silicate (a) and about 0.0005 to 0.05 wt% of the alkali earth metal compound or group IIIa compound (c) based on the weight of the photoconductor (b).
