Abstract

PURPOSE: An inorganic particle mixture consisting of borax and caustic soda is incorporated to synthetic resin foam to produce synthetic resin foam showing sufficient fireproofing and heat-resistant properties at an arbitrary temperature.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a synthetic resin foam as cold-curable polyurethane resin is mixed with borax and caustic soda and, when necessary, water. Further, inorganic particles of, e.g., perlite and inorganic materials that do not foam by heating as aluminum hydroxide and quartz sand, sodium carbonate, and other inorganic materials that foam by heating as borax, sodium metaborate, are added to the composition to give said fireproofing and heat-resistant synthetic resin foam.
