Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the image quality of copying alaways stable by detecting toner density and background density from the toner image of the reference target exposed and developed to part of a photoreceptor and performing the comparison and operation with the reference value having beforehand been stored.
CONSTITUTION: A detector 10 which detects the density of the toner image of the reference target 3 formed on a photoreceptor 6 is provided above a developing device 7. The detection signal having been detected here is led together with the signal from the temperature detector 11 of the photoreceptor 6 to an input circuit 12, the output whereof is then inputted to a central processing unit CPU based on the sequence signal from a processor 13. In the cnetral processing unit CPU, the comparison and operation of the reference value having beforehand been stored and the detection value from the detector 10 and the control signal is so emitted as to simultaneously and individually control various control circuits 15 in accordance with the preset mode.
