Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent runner from its touching with stationary part and to thereby improve its efficiency by disposing automatic shut-off valve on main supply line which directs pressure water from its source to each feed line of static pressure pockets, and also by disposing throttle valve on each of the feed lines.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic shut-off valve 27 is disposed on main feed line 21 which directs pressure water frow its source 25 to each feed line 21 of static pressure pockets 20 formed in a stationary part confronting runner 3. The shut-off valve 27 is opened only at times of starting, low load, closed pump, and shut-off load when radial vibrating action against runner 3 is increased, so that pressure water from its source 25 is supplied to static pressure pockets 20 for preventing wasteful discharge of pressure water. Moreover, since throttle valve 28 has been disposed on each feed line 26, a force which may eliminate vibrating action is generated so that even if clearance between rotating part and stationary part is narrowed, touching of rotating part with stationary part is prevented, rfesulting in leakage loss reduced and efficiency increased.
