Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide electrode effect to the elastic roller having conductivity, eliminate edge effect and fog and obtain good development by forming groove parts and ridge parts to the peripheral surface of a core metal and fitting a tubular conductive porous elastic member onto the core metal. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral surface of a core metal 1 is knurled to be formed with fine groove parts and ridge parts. Foam such as of polyurethane or other mixed with carbon powder, metal powder, etc. is used for a conductive porous elastic member 2. The state in which the knurled mesh of the core metal 1 bites into the inside wall of the elastic meterial 3 is assumed and electrical conduction is well and surely maintained between the core metal and conductive porous elastic member. Bonding between the core metal and polyurethane sponge is firm and does not readily peel. The use of the elastic roller having electrode effect in developing by developing solution, solution squeezing, etc. enables the edge effect and fog required for obtaining good development to be removed.
