Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the damping effect and electromagnetic shielding effect of double damper shields of a rotor, by dividing the inner damper shield in the circumferential direction into parts, the number of which is equal to that of field poles, and placing the divided parts between the poles.
CONSTITUTION: The inner damper shield of a rotor having double damper shields is divided in the circumferential direction into parts 4A, 4B, the number of which is equal to that of poles of a field winding 5. An insulator 8 is interposed between the divided parts 4A, 4B of the inner damper shield. The divided parts are placed between the field poles. Reinforcing cylinders 7, 9 are provided inside and outside the inner damper shield to reinforce it. As a result, a magnetic flux componet 10 is shielded well, another magnetic flux component 12 is not shielded but crossed with the outer damper shield, the damping effect is raised and the stress to be generated in the inner damper shield is reduced.
