Abstract

PURPOSE:To recover carrier vapor without discharging the same to the outside of the machine and improve the sanitary condition of the work by such things as making of a fixing and drying chamber nearly airtight except the inlet and outlet of copying paper and the use of surfactants for acceleration of carrier solution dissolution. CONSTITUTION:Transfer paper S, transferred with visible images by a transfer charger 4, is admitted into a fixing and drying chamber 5 through its inlet 6 and is discharged onto a tray 8 through the outlet 7. The fixing and drying chamber 5 incorporates nearly airtight construction, its inlet 6 being nearly hermetically sealed by a recording paper guide member 9 and its outlet 7 by paper discharge rollers 10. The recording paper S is pressure contacted at its surface by a fixing roller 12 and with its back surface being contacted to a hot plate 11, it moves, whereby the carrier solution is completely dried. The carrier vapor generated in the fixing and drying chamber 5 is sent into an absorbing tank 15 by a blower 14. The carrier absorbing absorbent in contained in the tank 15, and an absorbent 17 is circulated and flowed down by a pump 18 to completely capture the carrier solution. Thereby, the sanitation problem owing to carrier vapor may be solved.
