Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible reproduce faithfully an original signal waveform approximately by constituting a magnetoresistance element so that this element may receive the signal magnetic field from the magnetic recording medium in the easy- to-magnetize axis direction and giving a storage effect to the magnetoresistance element. CONSTITUTION:Magnetoresistance element 2 is so constituted that the ferromagnetic substance thin film of element 2 may receive signal magnetic field Hs from magnetic recording medium 5 in the easy-to-magnetize axis EA direction, and a function as a storage element is given to magnetoresistance element 2. Consequently, even when signal magnetic field Hs from magnetic recording medium 5 is a pulse-form magnetic field, the long-repeat period square wave original signal can be reproduced. Furhter, bias magnetic field HB is applied in the direction orthogonal to the easy-to-magnetize axis EA direction to give a bias effect to magnetoresistance element 2, and an operating current is supplied to give a switching characteristic to magnetoresistance element 2, so that the original signal waveform can be faithfully reproduced approximately.
