Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain transparent substrates which do not cause coloring within crossed Nicols and of good adhesiveness with the conductive layer by using polyester films of less differences in optical anisotropy as the substrate material for transparent conductive substrates for liquid crystal display body.
CONSTITUTION: The polyester film which is less than 5° in the difference of quenching position at an arbitrary point between crossed Nicols is used. In order to enhance the adhesiveness with the conductive thin film which does not oxidize and is composed of indium oxide, vapor deposition of conductive material is performed after undercoating with silane coupling agent. If at the time of making the liquid crystal display body by opposing electrode substrates, the optical axes of the quenching positions are superposed, then the display body case which becomes dark and black is obtained. The use of the portions of illustration 2 where the quenching positions of quenching position distributing curves are within 5° with respect to the width direction makes the formation of the display body easy.
