Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the parallelism of electrode substrate gaps, by using a glass substrate coated with transparent electrode as one of the substrates of liquid crystal display panel, and constituting the other substrate by forming an electrode on the surface of a material which may be deformed by external force of the other sybstrate and may be later solidified.
CONSTITUTION: A film 10 having a transparent electrode 13b formed on a glass substrate 12 through an adhesive 11 is contacted with a glass substrate 9 which is coated with a transparent electrode 13a, and the adhesive 11 is then cured. As the adhesive 11, a light transmitting type is used. When a transparent conductive film is used as the film 10, the transparent electrode 13b is not necessary. Vertical orientation films 14a, 14b are formed on the electodes 13a, 13b. The two substrates 9, 12 are surrounded and sealed with 15a, 15b through spacers 16a, 16b. Liquid crystal material 19 is poured in from an injection port 17, and the port 17 is closed with a sealing agent 18. Thus, a liquid crystal film 19 having a wavy form parallel to the wavy form of the glass substrate 9 may be obtained. Therefore, since it is not necessary to grind the substrates 9, 12 to flat planes, a liquid crystal display panel may be obtained at a low cost.
