Abstract
PURPOSE:To anneal the material to be treated in a small construction area and with a relatively small quantity of heat consumption, by installing an endless conveyor in a cylindrical furnace lined with refractory material, and by heating the material to be treated while being conveyed by trays mounted on the endless conveyor. CONSTITUTION:An endless conveyor 3 is installed in a tower 1 lined with refractory material 2 at the top and the periphery thereof. The conveyor 3 has many trays 4 mounted at the outer side thereof and is circulated by sprockets 9, 10, 11. The material to be treated, e.g., coil springs, tips, are dropped through an inlet 7 made in the lower part of the tower 1 to the trays 4 of the conveyor 3. The materials ride on one sides 6 of the trary 4, rise to the top of the tower, where the trays are turned over, so that the materials ride on the other sides of the trays 4. Hereby, the materials are heated and annealed while being conveyed by the conveyor 3, and discharged through an outlet 8. Because this apparatus is a vertical tower, it manges without a large construction area, with a small amount of heat loss caused through the inlet and the outlet for the material to be treated, and makes the annealing possible with a small amount of heat consumption.
