Abstract
PURPOSE: To assuredly adhere a tension band to a vessel of a cathode-ray tube without relative dislocation by constituting method for producing a cathode-ray tube such that a sheet having an adhesive layer of thermosetting material formed thereon is wound on a peripheral portion of a vessel of the tube which presents the greatest diameter and then a tension band is wound on tnis wound sheet whereafter the tension band is heated to allow the adhesive material on the sheet to permeate into the tension band.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet 1 is formed of a fabric of glass wool or wool woven in the form of lattice and has formed on one face thereof an adhesive layer 2 of thermosetting adhesives of the acryl type. The adhesive member 4 thus formed is wound around an outer wall portion of a vessel of a cathode-ray tube 5 which presents the greatest diameter. Then, a tension band 6 which has been preheated to about 200°C is annularly wound on the adhesive member 4 under the tension of 300W600kg. Thus, when the tension band 6 is thereafter heated, the thermosetting adhesives of the layer 2 of the adhesive member 4 is permeated into the tension band 6 to thereby allow the tension band 6 to be adhered to the tube 5 by way of the sheet or base member 1. Thus, the tension band can be assuredly attached to the tube without any relative dislocation between them.
