Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain good followup to abrupt load change at the time of light load, by providing combustor within exhaust gas channel of diesel engine with supercharger and by providing the combustor with valve mechanism to control supply of fuel in accordance with operation status.
CONSTITUTION: Portion of compressed air is adequately introduced into exhaust gas channel by connecting inlet channel 45 connecting to supercharger blower (not shown) and exhaust gas channel 46 connecting to supercharger turbine (not shown), with by-pass channel 6 with by-pass valve 47. Exhaust gas channel 46 is equipped with combustor 2 which is supplied with fuel from fuel reservoir 4 via control valve mechanism 8. Negative pressure of inlet pipe from boost control mechanism 21 and negative pressure of inlet pipe which is, by pressure control mechanism 12, controlled late are introduced into both sides of piston 19 of mechanism 8.
