Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture permeable film described in the title which has high ultrafiltration velocity for water at a low operation press. and has high removing ratio for high molecular weight material, by flow casting a soln. specifically composed of cellulose ester and dimethyl sulfoxide to make a solidified film. CONSTITUTION:A film-making soln. consisting of 1 part by weight of cellulose ester and 1-25 parts by weight of dimethyl sulfoxide is flow cast and is immersed in a coagulating liq., which is a nonsolvent for cellulose ester and disperses and removes dimethyl sulfoxide, so as to be solidified to form a selectively permeable cellulose ester film, which has 40-95% void; 1-200ml/m<2>.hr.mmHg ultrafiltration velocity for water; 0-100% removing ratio for substances of medium molecular weight about 1,000; 50-100% removing ratio for substances of high molecular weight not smaller than 10,000.
