Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an amorphous metal with a desired width and thickness by spouting molten metal onto the surface of a cooling body from a plurality of nozzle holes attached to a fire resistant nozzle container.
CONSTITUTION: Two or three nozzles 5 are parallelly arranged in tip 4 of nozzle container 2 in the moving direction of cooling body 3, or divided nozzles 5 are arranged so that they fill gaps each other. Molten metal is spouted onto body 3 from container 2 through nozzles 5 and cooled to obtain an amorphous metal. The size of the resulting metal is 5 mm wide and 0.1μ thick in case of two nozzles 5 (A), 5 mm wide and 0.15μ thick in case of three mozzles 5 (B), and 30 mm wide and 0.1μ thick in case of divided nozzles 5 (C).
