Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of short-circuit rings and obtain a cage rotor of a stable quality, by laminating preselected conductive plates on at least one end of a rotor core, and forming conductors and short-circuit rings integrally by aluminum die cast. CONSTITUTION:A rotor cores 1 prepared by punching an electromagnetic steel plate to a predetermined shape are laminated. Copper short-circuit rings 5 are laminated to a predetermined thickness on both sides of the rotor cores 1. Each of the short-circuit rings consists of a conductive plate of a metal, for example, copper, the conductivity of which is higher than that of aluminum, which conductive plate is punched to a shape identical with that of the rotor cores 1. Conductors 2 and short-circuit rings 3 are then formed integrally by aluminum die cast to obtain a cage rotor. This rotor permits reducing the size of short-circuit rings as composed with a rotor provided with short-circuit rings consisting of aluminum alone. The above cage rotor also permits minimizing the occurrence of pores during the casting of aluminum.
