Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain stable start of oscillation and continuity of oscillation with low power consumption, by switching the inverting circuit with control pulses in an oscillation circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a control pulse phi is at high level, the first inverter (NMOSs Q21, Q31, PMOSsQ22, Q32) and the second inverter (NMOSsQ23, Q27, PMOSsQ24, Q28) are at cutoff state and the oscillation is started only with the third inverter (NMOSQ25, PMOSQ26). After that, when the inner circuit and the state of power supply are stable, the control pulse phi is at low level, the first and the second inverter are at conductive state, and the oscillation continues with the three stage of inverter. The oscillation of undesired frequency as the result of CR oscillation loop formation based on the high gain of the three stage inverter at the start of oscillation is prevented and the capacitance between the input and output at the continuity of oscillation is avoided, allowing to achieve low power consumption.
