Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an outer sleeve with high accuracy through less cutting work, by composing the outer sleeve of the first part slidably fitted on an inner sleeve and the second part fitted on the peripheral surface of the first part and by splitting the first part into two sections.
CONSTITUTION: A power steering unit has a stub shaft 17 which can be coupled to a steering shaft not shown in Fig. The shaft 17 is integrated with the inner sleeve 24 of an operating valve. The first outer sleeve 25 is slidably fitted on the peripheral surface of the inner sleeve 24 so that the outer sleeve can be rotated relatively to the inner sleeve. The second outer sleeve 26 is fitted on the peripheral surface of the first outer sleeve 25 so that an outer sleeve 27 is constructed. The first outer sleeve 25 can be split into two portions 25', 25" on planes x, y extending from the axis of the first outer sleeve to a recess 30 at the low pressure side which functions as a part of a drain passage. In the outer sleeve 27, positioning is effected by the projection 24e of the inner sleeve 24 and a bearing 19.
