Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the detection of a direction as well, by providing mixers which have a prescribed phase difference and are connected to circulators provided in two waveguides which are divided from each other by a directional coupler. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation output of an oscillator 10 is transmitted through circulators 20, 20, a directional coupler 14 and an antenna 15. The circulators are provided in two waveguides which are divided from each other by another directional coupler 13. Some of the oscillation output is applied as a local oscillation output to diode mixers 11, 12 which are connected to the circulators 20, 20 and which have a phase difference of theta. Doppler signals, the phases of which are advanced or delayed by 2theta depending on the approaching or moving-away of a target, are detected by the mixers 11, 12 from reflected and received waves from the target. The detection outputs of the mixers 11, 12 are processed by a phase comparator 19 to detect the direction of the target together with its velocity.
