Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare an oily or oil-gel cosmetic which can be adjusted its viscosity and feeling in a wide range according to the purpose, by compounding an alkyl ammonium cellulose sulfate as a thickener. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic composition composed of (A) a cosmetic oil such as liquid paraffin, squalane, an ester oil, a higher alcohol, etc. and (B) 0.01-5.0wt%, pref. 0.02-3.0wt%, based on the oil, an alkyl ammonium cellulose sulfate [e.g. dimethyl.dialkyl (12-18C) ammonium cellulose sulfate]. The viscosity, feeling, appearance, water repellency, etc. can be adjusted in a wide range by selecting the kind, combination, and amount of the cosmetic oil.
