Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent crystallization of a polished part and to obtain a photoreceptor capable of forming a high quality image at a high yield, by polishing the protuberance of the surface of photoreceptor occurring in formation of the photoreceptor, and heat-treating at a specified temperature for a given time.
CONSTITUTION: An Se-type photosensitive material is vapor-deposited on the electroconductive substrate, such as an Al drum to form a photoreceptor, and the protuberance of the photoreceptor surface occurring at that time is polished with a simple sand paper or so. The polished photoreceptor is heated to a softening point or higher, e.g., in the temperature range of 30W65°C to make heat treatment. This permits the protuberance to sinter and increase luster, becoming similar to the other parts of the photoreceptor surface, and crystallization to be prevented by heating the photoreceptor to or above the softening point, but since the polished part tends to crystallize, it must not be heated to or above the crystallizing temperature of the photosensitive material.
