Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce glare and to enhance resolution and contrast in a transmission type screen, it is made from a substrate having uneven surface and mixed with light diffusion material in varying denisty in the direction of thickness.
CONSTITUTION: In order to provide a transmission type screen, a synthetic resin substrate 2 such as acrylic resin is provided with depression and elevation 11 of Fresnel structure on its light impinging surface and its light emitting surface 4 is made uneven. Furthermore the substrate 2 is mixed with a specified amount of methacrylic and azobis isobutyl nitrile resins having a specific diameter to form a light diffusion material with its density being decreased in the direction of thickness. Due to such constitution, the structures 11 and 4 diffuse light, high resolution image is formed at high-density area, and glare is reduced at lower density area, thus providing an image of low glare, high resolution, and excellent contrast.
