Abstract
PURPOSE:To make brightness at the center and on the periphery of a picture uniform by using a lenticular screen having a form with which an inclination of the long axis of an ellipse becomes large in proportion to a distance from the center. CONSTITUTION:A transmission type modulated lenticular screen 1 comprising lenticular lenses a0, a1,...an is formed in a form where at the center of the screen a long axis x is horizontal to the screen surface and on the approach to the edge part of the left and the right a form of the arc of said ellipse being changed while an inclination of the long axis becoming large. The arc of each ellipse may be constructed with one part of the same ellipse and the form of the ellipse has been composed such that a proportion of the short axis x to the long axis y is 1:3-3:4, the inclination of the ellipse being under 60 deg. at the both side, the pitch of each ellipsoidal lens being approximately constant and being ranged with 3/4-1/2 of the length of the short axis y.
