Abstract

PURPOSE: To make constant tension applied to a mooring cable by a method wherein a buoy main body is equipped with a transmitting-receiving equipment and a propelling means, the signal from an anchor on the seabed is received, and the propelling means is operated toward the correcting direction upon detection of a displacement exceeding a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: A buoy main body 1 is equipped with mooring means consisting of a reception hydrophone 5, winch 6, propelling thruster 7, and rotary thruster 8, and is moored to an anchor 12 on the seabed through a mooring cable 11. A pinger 13 with positive buoyancy is connected to the anchor 12, and transmits an ultrasonic beacon in the direction A. This signal is received by the hydrophone 5, which confirms the present position and detects the deviation of the present position from a reference position. When the deviation is over a predetermined value, the mooring means are operated to correct the position, for automatic adjustement so as to prevent a tension in excess of a predetermined value from acting on the cable 11.
