Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high self-start frequency characteristic by driving only the first several steps by 1/2-phase excitation when a pulse motor is shifted from retained state to driven. CONSTITUTION:As illustrated, an exciting sequence comes in, for example, 2-phase excitation when a motor is retained, 1/2-phase excitation at rise time and 2-phase excitation when it is actually driven. And an arrangement is such that, as illustrated, with stator positions taken at phi'1,..., phi'4 and rotor positions at S1,..., S7, the rotor steady positions will be changed as S2 S3 S4 S6 ... by changing the phases as phi'1.phi'2 phi'2 phi'2.phi'3 phi'3.phi'4 .... By arranging such, an acceleration stability of the rotor at the time of shifting from rise to actual drive is improved, and particularly a self-start frequency characteristic can be improved.
