Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure abnormal currents of many electrode plates at a time and at a high accuracy in a short time, by mounting exciting coils on the top ends of rods hanging down from a frame which straddles over an electrolytic cell equipped with many electrode plates, and by mounting detecting means equipped with electromagnetic-transducing elements.
CONSTITUTION: At the top ends of plural rods 12 hanging down from a frame 11 which straddles over an electrolytic cell equipped with many electrode plates are installed detecting means 13 which are pressed downward by springs 14. A stopper 15 regurates the movement of the detecting means, a shielding member 16 pulls up and accomodates the detecting means 13 so as to shield the detecting means 13 from surrounding magnetic field. The detecting means 13 is composed of a iron core 13a, an exciting coil 13b, a Hall element 13c, and is equipped with a stopper 13d which is in contact with the upper surface of the electrode plate and regulates the drop of the detecting means 13, and further equipped with opening 13e whereby the detecting means 13 straddles over the electrode plate. A cable 17 supplies dc voltage to the coil 13b, or takes out the output of the element 13c to the outside. Hereby the output of the detecting means due to each electrode current, the output in accordance with the reference magnetic flux of the exciting coil, and nonexciting output are computed respectively at every detecting means 13 in order to judge the abnormality of the electrode plates.
