Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the desorption efficiency of the apparatus by providing the partition plates which divide the spacing in the case of the evaporating fuel recovery apparatus to a plurality of spacings in the direction parallel to the gas flow within said case.
CONSTITUTION: The partition plates 9 comprising disposing multiple plates 90aW 90h in radial form parallel to the flow direction of air are mounted within a cylindrical case 1 to segment the case 1 to multiple small chambers. Adsorbents 8 are packed in the small chambers. On the other hand, porous plates 3, 4 and filters 5, 6 are mounted to the top and bottom ends of the case 1 to form the evaporating fuel recovery apparatus. In the above-mentioned apparatus, the evaporating fuel from a fuel tank T, evaporator float chamber F, etc. flows into the case 1 through an adsorption port 2a and is adsorbed in the adsorbents 8 while the engine E is not in running. On the other hand, when the engine E starts running, air is drawn through an atmospheric port 1a by the negative pressure of the engine E and the evaporating fuel is desorbed and recovered from the adsorbents 8 by the air flow and is admitted into the engine E.
