Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a number of circuit elements, required when sizes of characters are to be changed, in a thermal recording device where two or more heating elements are employed. CONSTITUTION:On an insulation substrate 30, n pieces of thermal resistors 31-1- n are located on a line L-L' in such a way that a center to center distance to the adjoining resistor is d1. Each resistor 31 has an area of S1. The resistors 31 are connected to terminals 35-1-n, through reverse current protecting diodes 33-1-n, by signalling lines 34-1-n one ends of which are provided on the substrate 30. Another groupe of n pieces of thermal resistors 36 are also located on a line M-M' which is parallel to the line L-L'; a resistor 36-n is also located on a line l-l'. A center to center distance to the adjoining resistor d2 for instance is given as d2<d1, and whose area S2 is given as S2<S1. One ends of the resistors 36 are connected to signalling lines 37 provided on the substrate 30, while the other ends, to signalling lines 34-1-n through reverse current protecting diodes 39-1-n respectively.
