Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the common use for the hardware for the data process system incorporating several processors which give the access to the memory device, by adding the memory data converting function to the memory device.
CONSTITUTION: In case the access is given to the data of continuous two bytes through memory address 1, processor 2 sets the address to register 8 to send the reading command to memory device 1. Device 1 takes the contents of register 8 into registers 10 and 11. Memory 4 reads out the contents (addresses 0W3) of the word address corresponding to the address of register 11 and then sends them to shifter 12. Shifter 12 gives the right shift of 1 byte to the data based on the contents of register 10. The data after shift is taken into register 6. As the data converting function common to each processor is provided to the memory device, the common use of the hardware is attained.
