Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:7-Methoxycephalosporin derivative of formula I{Q is O, S; R is lower alkyl; n is O, 2; X is acetoxy, 2-Y-1 [Y is H, lower alkyl, A1 is lower alkylene), S-A2-COOH (A2 is lower alkylene)], 1-Z-1H (Z is H, lower alkyl, A1-OH, etc.)} or its salt.
EXAMPLE: 7β - ( α-methylsulphonyl-2-thienylacetamide ) - 7α-methoxy-3-acetoxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carbomylic acid sodium salt.
USE: Antibacterials effective to gram positive (negative)bacteria independent of the number of the bacteria.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is obtained, e.g. by the acylation of a 7- amino-7-methoxycephem compound of formula II with a carboxylic acid of formula III or its reactive derivative.
