Abstract
PURPOSE: Xanthine dehydrogenase is produced by culturing a microorganism belonging to Aclcligenes.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism which belongs to Alcaligenes and can produce xanthine dehydrogenase, e.g., Alcaligenes faecalis ATCC8750, is inoculated in an enriched culture medium containing xanthine, hypoxanthine, adenine or guanine and cultured at 20W35°C and 6.0W9.5pH by a usual shaking method or aeration and agitation method and the xanthine dehydrogenase formed is collected.
