Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the scattering of laser light due to water drops and obtain a prescribed quantity of light, by preventing the dewing on an optical window of a laser apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-insulating polyurethane sheet 2 is bonded to a metal cover 3. The laser light is emitted out a window 1. A laser element 4 is held on a mount 5. An endothermic electrode 6a and exothermic electrode 6b are attached to both the ends of a Peltier element 6. The heat of the electrode 6b is radiated through a base 7. The cover 3 is tightly fitted on the base 7 to shut off a space 9 from the external air. Dry nitrogen is filled in the space 9 to prevent the dewing on the inside of the window 1. A thermister 8 is attached to the mount 5 to control a voltage applied to the Peltier element 6. Because the temperature of the laser element is kept low and the temperature difference between the external air and the window is reduced or the temperature of the window is made higher than that of the external air, the dewing is prevented and a stable laser output is obtained.
