Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a water-based luster coating composition suitable for the luster coating of floor, furniture, etc., and having excellent removability and recoatability, by adding a water-miscible film-forming assistant or a plasticizer to an aqueous dispersion of a specific silane-substituted polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition composed of (A) 10W100pts.wt. (solid basis) of an aqueous dispersion of a polymer derived from (a) 1W20wt% of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid such as maleic acid, (b) 0.1W10wt% of a silane compound of formula (R is a group having an α,β-ethylenic unsaturated bond; R' is alkyl or H), and (c) other α,β-unsaturated monomers, (B) 0W50pts of an alkali-soluble resin such as shellac, (C) 0W90pts of a wax such as carnauba wax, and (D) a water-miscible film-forming assistant or a plasticizer such as dibutyl phthalate. The amount of the (D) component is 3W75wt% based on (A)+(B)+ (C).
