Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a stator core free from eddy-current loss by making a plurality of steel plates laminated vacuum between adjacent layers with an insulator layer formed on the circumference thereof for keeping them airtight and hardening the layer being pressed under the atmospheric pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A required number of silicon steel plates are laminated and a thermo-setting resin layer 16 made of epoxy resin is formed on the circumference thereof. Under such a condition, the core 11 is placed into a closed chamber 17 and an internal air is sucked through an air inlet to keep the chamber vacuum while a mechanical pressure is applied by means of pressing members 18a and 18b to render the separate space between the silicon plates vacuum. Then, the core 11 is exposed to the atmospheric pressure to be solidified. With such an arrangement, the airtightness maintained by the resin layer prevents the infiltration of air between the silicon steel plates 14. Thus, the steel plates can be welded under compression without strain thereby checking eddy-current loss of the stator core 11.
