Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent or reduce the adsorption to the surface of the magnetic recording medium by forming the positive pressure generation surface with the curved surface for the floating head slider which touches the surface of the magnetic recording medium at its start or stop time. CONSTITUTION:Floating head slider 11 is put on magnetic recording medium surface 5. Slider 11's bottom surface has slider surface 12 which is formed into the cylindrical form and generates the floating force, and then generates the negative pressure at stepped surface 13 which causes the sucking force. On slider surface 12 of slider 11, the higher the running velocity V on surface 5 the larger the positive floating force is generated. And negative pressure generation surface 13 is formed with the sufficiently large difference in level in comparision with minimum floating amount h, and thus the sucking force nearly proportional to velocity V is generated regardless of amound h. And the center of the sucking force is positioned closer to the inflow edge then the center of slider 11, and thus securing the automatic balancing to the distribution of the positive pressure of slider 11. As a result, the adsorption can be avoided, at the same time securing the sufficient hardwearing properties.
