Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible rolling of high accuracy with an inexpensive device by providing the simultaneous screw-down intermediate jacks and simultaneous levelling intermediate jacks which operate the screw-down rams on the operation side and driving side in the screw-down device of the rolling mills. CONSTITUTION:The both screw-down rams 7 provided on the operation side A and driving side B are cooperatively moved by the simultaneous levelling intermediate jacks consisting of the pistons 22 which are movable by drivers 25, pinions 24, racks 23 as well as right and left inner chambers, etc. whereby they are levelled in the opposite directions. Also, the simultaneous screw-down intermediate jacks consisting of screw-down setters 14, flow control units 13, control valves 12, simultaneous screw-down pistons 18, etc. are provided and the control units 13 are operated by the feedback from a displacement gauge 11 so that the specified screw-down is accomplised by means of fluid lines 19, 20 and rams 7. This is improved by combining the simultaneous screw-down system and simultaneous levelling system of conventional methods and the device is relatively inexpensive.
