Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the casting of homogenous and dense lead alloy gratings, polar columns, etc. by connecting the lead melting kettle communicating with an inert gas compressor and a pressure pot by means of a molten lead feed pipe, pressing the molten lead by compressed inert gas with the pressure pot and injecting the same through the nozzle of the feed pipe into metal mold.
CONSTITUTION: While molten lead 4 is being pressed with a pressing part 7, a molten lead feed port 9 is held closed by a valve 8 and therefore it does not back flow into a lead melting kettle 1 and it is pressure-cast in the metal mold 13 fixed by a frame 12 from the nozzle part 11 through feed pipe 10. When the pressure in the pressure pot 6 decreases after the casting, the valve 8 opens and the molten lead 4 is fed from the kettle 1 into the pot 6 through the feed pipe 10 via feed port 9. The molten lead 4 in the pot 6 is held always at the level within a fixed range and at the time of casting, it is flowed into the metal mold 13 under low pressure of about 5kg/cm2 or under by using the first pressure regulator 14 connecting to the inert gas compressor 19. In the final, it is cast under high pressure by the second pressure regulator 15.
