Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate recommencing of normal operation after interruption of steam supply, by communicating a portion of steam supply pipe and a ball-float check valve means by a by-pass pipe, and connecting a lower portion of the said valve means to an open pit via silencer.
CONSTITUTION: Geothermal fluid pumped up from a well installed at a geothermal steam available region is carried to liquid separator 23 via pipe 2. Steam separated in liquid separator 23 is sent to steam reservoir 26 via BFV (ball-float check valve means) and then supplied to turbine. Here, when the check valve is closed by its ball as quantity of hot water collected at the bottom of BFV24 is increased gradually, relief valve 20 is opened to such an extent that pressure in liquid separator 23 and BFV24 may not become lower than the pressure capable of maintaining normal operation of the system. At the same time, valve 25 is closed for releasing steam as well as hot water to pit 28 via silencer 27. Here, BFV24 and pipe 21 are connected with each other via by-pass line 22 having a check valve, so as to allow dropping of the ball in BFV24.
