Abstract

PURPOSE: To supply powder without changing the pressure in a lower tank, by pressurizing the interior of an upper tank to the same level as that of the lower tank whenever the powder in the lower tank is decreased to a prescribed remaining quantity, and then opening a powder inlet pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When powder remaining in a lower tank 3 is decreased below a prescribed quantity, a valve 8 is opened by the action of a level switch 31 to pressurize the interior of an upper rank 2. When the pressure in the upper tank 2 is equalized to that in the lower tank 3, another valve 6 is opened so that both the tanks communicate with each other through a pipe 7. Another valve 5 is then opened so that the powder in the upper tank 2 falls into the lower tank 3 due to gravity. At that time, the air in the tank 3 is transferred into the upper tank through the pipe 7.
